The stages

Stage 1$750

Technical Review

Fixed price. 3 business days from receipt of access. Deliverable: written findings, ranked by business impact, plus the fixed quote for Stage 2. Credited in full against Stage 2 if the client proceeds.

Stage 2from $6,000

Store Rescue

Fixed price, quoted at the end of Stage 1. Never quoted before. 30 working days. 50% on start, 50% on delivery. Guarantee: if the acceptance criteria are not met, the second 50% is not invoiced.

Stage 3$1,500/month

Managed Engineering

Month to month. No contract. No notice period. Begins the day the rescue goes live.

The performance guarantee

The guarantee. On the three templates named in your Stage 1 report — home, top category, top product — measured with Lighthouse mobile via the PageSpeed Insights API from a US test location, median of three consecutive runs:

LCP under 2.5 seconds · CLS under 0.1 · Total Blocking Time under 200ms · Lighthouse Performance score of 85 or better.

Baseline captured before any change, using the same method. Third-party scripts added after handover — analytics, chat, pixels, review widgets, A/B tools — are excluded. Real-user field data from the Chrome User Experience Report is reported monthly once 28 days of data exist, but is not guaranteed, because we do not control your traffic mix or your visitors' devices.

The 30 working days begin when we have SFTP or SSH, database, admin, DNS, and repository access — not at signature. The clock pauses on any client-side blocker, confirmed in writing.

How the guarantee is measured

Measurement uses Lighthouse mobile via the PageSpeed Insights API from a US test location, taking the median of three consecutive runs, on the three templates named in your Stage 1 report — home, top category, and top product. A baseline is captured before any change using this same method, and the same metrics are reported afterward. The thresholds are: LCP under 2.5 seconds, CLS under 0.1, Total Blocking Time under 200ms, and a Lighthouse Performance score of 85 or better.

Third-party scripts added after handover — analytics, chat, pixels, review widgets, A/B tools — are excluded from the measurement, because they run outside our control. Real-user field data from the Chrome User Experience Report is reported monthly once 28 days of data exist, but is not itself guaranteed, because we do not control your traffic mix or your visitors' devices.

What "credited against Stage 2" means

The Stage 1 Technical Review is a fixed $750. If you proceed to a Stage 2 Store Rescue, the full $750 is deducted from the Stage 2 price — you are not charged twice for the review. If you do not proceed, the $750 stands as payment for the written findings and quote you received.

The clock, and what pauses it

The 30 working days for a Stage 2 rescue begin when we have the access we need to work — SFTP or SSH, database, admin, DNS, and repository access — not at signature. The clock pauses on any client-side blocker, confirmed in writing (for example, waiting on credentials, a third-party vendor, or your sign-off on a decision).

Scope exclusions

  • We do not quote a fixed rescue price before reviewing the code. The Stage 2 price is quoted at the end of Stage 1, never before.
  • We do not rewrite abandoned third-party modules inside the fixed price. If a module blocks the upgrade and has no maintained replacement, that is a Stage 1 finding and a decision made together.
  • We do not take on a store that cannot reach the guarantee economically. You will hear that at the review stage, before Stage 2 exists.
  • We do not work on Shopify or other closed hosted platforms, and we do not take design-only projects.

Payment terms

All prices are in US dollars. Stage 1 is invoiced on booking. Stage 2 is invoiced 50% on start and 50% on delivery; if the guarantee's acceptance criteria are not met, the second 50% is not invoiced. Stage 3 managed engineering is $1,500/month, billed monthly, with no contract, minimum term, or notice period — cancel any month. Payment is by card via Stripe. Your code stays in your repository and your credentials stay yours throughout.
