PrestaShop, since before it was unfashionable.

I've been inside PrestaShop's codebase for most of its life — 1.5 through 9.1, Smarty, the override system, the module ecosystem, and every migration path between them. Most agencies dropped it when Shopify got easy. I didn't, because the merchants doing serious volume on it are still there.

What I do on PrestaShop

• 1.6, 1.7, and 8.x migrations to PrestaShop 9.1
• Recovery from a failed or half-finished upgrade
• PrestaShop-specific performance work: Smarty caching, hook execution cost, combination and layered-navigation queries, ps_search indexing
• Custom module development, and rewrites of abandoned third-party modules
• Multistore configurations

The honest state of the platform

PrestaShop is on roughly 0.6% of the measurable web and lost about 16% of its detected stores in the year to May 2026. France, Spain, and Italy remain its strongest markets; the US is around 10% of PrestaShop stores.

That decline is exactly why this page exists. Fewer agencies means the merchants still running on it — and plenty are doing eight figures — have almost nowhere to go. If moving to Shopify genuinely makes sense for you, I'll say so. If it doesn't, I'm one of the few people left who can keep you running properly.
